Image Details

This hidden ice cave that dwells within the glaciers of Iceland was created by glacial runoff that flows underneath, melting and re-freezing throughout the winter.   Looking closely you can see the broken ice on top had crumbled from a previous freeze; as I captured the image, the sound of the ice groaning and crackling was somewhat disturbing yet very momentous.
